'This is my basketball I got from Uncle J, Aunt Jamie and Stetson. It's super cool because it has all the NBA teams on it.' 'Yep, every single one of them, right there on the ball.'

Sippy Cup 101

'Okay guys, Caden here...I don't claim to be an expert, but I do know a little about sippy cups.'
'Now in this picture you'll notice I'm chewing on it...I'm teething you know and it actually feels really good to my gums. If you yourself are not teething, just omit this part.'

'You can also place your sippy cup on your Mommy's ottoman...when she scolds you just tell her it was water in the cup and you were helping her clean the ottoman. After all, it is Scotch Guarded, so what's it gonna hurt? But--if you get in trouble, you never heard it from me.'
'Now here is an important point. Always have a back up in case you lose one or misplace it. Here you'll see I have my favorite blue one AND my yellow one.'
'Okay, got a little crazy with my hands while talking and off rolled my yellow one.'
'Anyway, I hope you got some useful information from this...''Now, where did I put my yellow cup...?'

Caden's New Wagon

Here is a picture of Caden in his wagon that he got from Uncle J, Aunt Jamie and Stetson! Tim and I took him for a walk on Sunday and here he is all strapped in and ready to go. Talk about rollin' in style, he even has cup holders for him and a friend!

Linus??? Let's Hope Not.

I was cleaning up Caden's room and the next thing I know he has pulled out a blanket from his little basket and is carrying it around. Tim started chasing him and it became a game! For reference, here is a picture of the actual blanket when I got it at my baby shower last year. My sister Kari made this little faux-baby up for me!

'Yeah, I'm taking this blanket for a walk...'

'First I'm going to stretch...Daddy you should too so you can keep up with me.'

Caden's Birthday Party

I created a slide show of Caden's Birthday Party because of course there are TONS of pictures! Thanks to Uncle Scotty for taking all the photos at his party! Thank you to Grammie for getting the decorations, thank you to GiGi for helping cook and clean and prepare for the party, thank you to Aunt Kay for helping to decorate and help with EVERYTHING, thank you Jamie for being the bag lady for all the wrapping paper and helping to clean, thank you MiMi for helping clean up as well! Caden would like to thank Daddy for grilling some fantastic burgers for his party too! Caden had a fabulous time and got a lot of cool gifts as you will see from the slide show. I know, I know...

We have not posted in a while. We are working on his birthday slide show and will have it up tonight more than likely. In the meantime, he went to Dr. Berry yesterday for his 1 year check up! Wow, that seemed like so far away when I scheduled that appointment at his 9 month!

Anyway, he is doing great and here are his stats:

Weight: 24lbs 4 oz - 70%

Height: 30.5 inches - 75%

He had his MMR vaccines and the Chicken Pox one. He ran a little bit of fever last night and this morning, but other than that, he is just having a blast playing with his birthday toys!

Caden's 1st Birthday Continued...

Today we kept Caden home so he could play on his birthday. We started off with a cookie and a #1 candle (practicing for tomorrow!). He then played with Poppa and rode around the living room.Here he is getting some love from Daddy. We also blew bubbles in the house! I know, totally breaking the rules!

Then it was time to read about Noah and the Ark with GiGi.

Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Caden Cole

Happy 1st Birthday sweetheart! Mommy and Daddy love you so much and cannot imagine our world without you in it. You are so precious to us and we cannot wait to celebrate your birthday this weekend!

One Year Ago Today...

I got the phone call from my Dr. telling us to head to Baylor Dallas to check-in so we could have Caden the next day! Wow, how time has flown.

Caden's First Haircut

Tonight our little 'big' boy had his first haircut. Daddy took some 'before' photos of him prior to the appointment.

'Ahh...it is so hard being pampered at such a young age.'
Here he is watching The Wiggles on the T.V. in front of his car. I had to laugh because I kept pointing to the T.V. to make Caden face forward. I only know OF The Wiggles. I do not watch them, know their names or belong to their fan club which I am sure is HUGE! So I pointed to the dog and said, 'Look Caden! Puppy!' to which Miss Yvonne jumped in and said, 'That's (whatever the dog's name is).' Anyway it was funny because I did not have a clue!

'I'm not even scared Daddy...this haircut thing is super cool. Miss Yvonne says the haircut makes my cheeks look cuter too!'

'Yeah, I'm going to need to back this car up, so you might want to step back.'

'Daddy, I need to borrow your Blackberry so I can call my daycare buddies.''Nah, I think I'll just e-mail them and warn them about how handsome I'll be looking tomorrow.''Daddy, the night is young, let's go out on the town, I'm looking way too cute to just go to sleep. Drive!'

We Are Still Alive

I am sorry we have not posted in several days. Between planning for Caden's 1st Birthday and being a little under the weather, I just have not had time. Here are some pictures from Monday after we got home. I was chasing him with the camera and clearly he was being camera shy.
