My Sleepy Sick Boy

Caden has long outgrown his Jumperoo that Aunt Kay and Uncle Scotty gave him. However, he still enjoys pulling on it and making it jump. Today I put him in it just to see what he'd do and he fell asleep. The poor child has been hopped up on 'roids and was a wild man last night. He circled through our foyer, into the office, through the kitchen and into the living room 6 times while I was on the phone with my Mom. He turned on every single toy that he has that makes noise and then turned them back on when the song would end.

Sleepy little boy...

Precious little feet....

We Are Alive...

We had an awful weekend. Poor Caden has been so sick and still is! Thursday I was not feeling well and went to the Dr. and then Friday he began to cough and have fever. I was up with him in the night off and on all night Friday and we took him to the After Hours Pediatric Clinic on Saturday. With his history of being hospitalized with RSV last year, they immediately put him on 3 doses of steroids and they had me start breathing treatments (the very ones he was on with RSV). Pat stayed the night Saturday night to help out. Thanks so much Grammie for the potato soup, dessert and helping take care of Cade Man! I took him back to the Dr. this morning and they put him on antibiotics since has not gotten better. We are hoping we are in the final home stretch. We have all had a rough weekend. I just wanted to update you all since I had received some e-mails asking about the blog! I am sorry to Keeley and Jamie for not making the Komen Race on Saturday. There is always next year. I'm glad you guys had fun though!

Grammie came over tonight with some goodies for Caden and to take us all to dinner at my favorite place, Mi Cocina! We had a great time! Thanks so much Grammie.

The Rest of the Weekend

We drove back to Mom's house on Saturday to spend the afternoon and Sunday with her.

GiGi bathed Caden in the sink and he had a blast! Check out that smile!

Mom and I went shopping Saturday night and then out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Here is Caden rocking back and forth in the highchair.

Caden decided to do a little highchair dancing to the music while we were eating. Check out my silly dancing baby.

Here is Caden and GiGi with the wooden pull toy I got him in Chappel Hill. He loves it and pulls it all over the place!

Here is Caden getting some kisses from Mommy.Aunt Kay came over Sunday morning to visit. Thank you GiGi for the homemade pancakes! Here is Aunt Kay and Caden playing.Aunt Kay let Caden play with her new I-Phone. Caden thought he was something else walking around talking on the phone.

Scarecrow Festival

We arrived at the Scarecrow Festival in Chappel Hill early Saturday morning. It is sort of like a mini Canton. We had so much fun shopping and people watching! I bought some jewelry, a wooden pull toy for Caden and a little frog bag. Caden was such a trooper going from car seat to stroller and then out and back in again. Poor little guy had fun though.

Here is Caden having some goldfish while we shopped.
Here is a little secret that some of you may not know: I have a jewelry store! I thought this was too funny so I had to take a picture of it.
Here is Caden completely distracted by the crowd.
We took him out of the stroller and let him run around in the grass and he ran right up to the pumpkins.
After our shopping trip, we headed for home. Check out his little rosy cheeks.

Kari, Mom, Connie, we had such a great time and cannot wait to do it again! I vote that we hit the Bluebonnet Festival in the Spring and end it in the Fall with the Scarecrow Festival! Ladies, I leave you 3 with these images to commemorate our trip.

Friday

Friday I brought Caden to work with me again so we could leave to head back down to Conroe. Dad is in Colorado so us girls thought we would have a 'Girls Weekend' with Caden of course!
'Mommy, do not take my Cookie Monster remote control from me please. It is bad enough that you and Daddy are always taking YOUR remotes from me.'

Here is Caden wearing his Dracula light-up shirt from Grammie. Thank you Grammie! Here is Caden typing away at Mommy's office.

We arrived at GiGi's house and she had a Halloween gift for him! It was a ghost trick-or-treat container with pj's that had trucks on them, a Cookie Monster book and a Pumpkin bib! Thank you GiGi! Of course Caden had to sit down right then and have GiGi read to him.

Our Girls Weekend (with Caden) was in Chappel Hill near Brenham. We left Friday afternoon to drive there and once we checked in at the hotel, we went out to dinner at an Italian place. Here is Caden waiting for the food to arrive. His shirt says 'I don't have an off button', how appropriate!

Rocky Balboa (The Morning After)

'I'm not suppose to touch Mommy's purse and if you look close enough, my little finger is only millimeters away from it, so technically I'm not touching it.''This is my sexy belly!'
'Daddy, take me with you to play golf today...I'll be your caddy.'
'Seriously Daddy, I want to stay home from daycare. Are you listening to me?'
I think in this picture he looks sooooooo much like Tim!
'Thank you Grammie for my new fall clothes!
I think I look pretty cute and I think all my ladies will agree! If they don't, I'll just smack 'em with a phone.'

Eric Clapton Would Not Be Happy

I get to daycare to pick up my angel of a sweet baby named Caden and I found out that he was not so 'angelic' today. It appears that after I dropped him off, 'Layla's' Mom dropped Layla off and Caden picked up a play phone and smacked her in the face! I know, I couldn't believe it either, our Baby Caden...shocking right? As if that were not bad enough, he chose the perfect opportunity to smack her, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER MOTHER. I was horrified and hope I don't run into Layla's Mommy. I mean, what do you say? or not say? As any parental figure would do, I scolded him when we got into the car, I did the "NO HIT" speech, as if the child even remembers what he did 5 minutes ago, much less hours prior! We also had the "NEVER HIT A GIRL CADEN!" speech, as he said 'BA!' (translation: ball) and pointed out the window just to distract me. I also did what any respectable parent would do and I told him next time could he please wait until the girl's mother was out of sight?! I mean really...it puts me in a very awkward position. I certainly don't want MY son to be THAT kid. Anyway, I'll keep you posted on my little smacker! His daycare lady said 'He didn't just tap her, I mean he smacked her.' Oh good...I'm glad he made it count! GEEZ...
Oh, and by the way, I have the song Layla song stuck in my head...lovely.

I Love Hugs!

I dressed Caden today in a onesie that Kari and Scott got him for his birthday. It was so funny when I put it on him because he never wears long sleeves. He was slinging both his arms like he had something on him that he needed to get off! I thought he looked especially cute today in his jeans and matching shoes.
'Mommy, I need a hug right now!'
'Seriously Mommy, you better hug me...I'm losing it!'
'Oh cool...never mind...I'm up high, this is fun.''Sure, I'll pose for a picture Mommy.''Okay, Mommy...last one...it's time to go see Mrs. Sarah.'Here is what Caden now does when we go to Mrs. Sarah's.
'Put me down Mommy...I want to watch cartoons.'

'I love Mrs. Sarah.'

Colorado Bound

Dad and my cousin John leave today for Colorado to go hunting. We wish them a safe trip to and from and happy hunting! Every time Dad leaves in October for Colorado he always calls me no matter how early to tell me goodbye. It's our little father/daughter thing that he does. Growing up we could always count on 2 things happening when Dad left for his annual hunt: 1) Kari and I would ALWAYS get sick and 2) Something would always go wrong that only Dad could fix, whether it be the well going out, a snake getting in the house...you name it and it would happen like clockwork! Mom, I pray we don't get sick and nothing breaks while Dad is away!
