Merry Go Round at Stonebriar Mall

Saturday afternoon we took Caden to the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco to ride the Merry-go-Round. He loved it and had so much fun! Here he is with Daddy holding on to him. Look at that smile!

After the ride on the horse we took him to the Disney store where he picked out this Buzz Lightyear toy. He loves this guy and takes him all over the house with him. This was in the truck after we left.After a trip to the Disney store we went downstairs and watched some young kids playing hockey. Caden was fascinated and loved seeing them skate all over the place. He was holding on to his Buzz Lightyear we got him.

'Just Remember, He's Tough'

Yesterday my office all went to eat for lunch. We got back in Glenn's car to drive back to the office and I noticed 2 missed calls from Caden's teacher and my friend Alisha. I thought, 'Hmm...that's odd...she didn't text me but called twice.' So I called her back and said, 'Hey! What's up?' She said, 'You didn't get my voicemail did you?' My heart sank! Caden got his finger stuck in the door (hinge side) and they had a time pulling his finger out once it was stuck! They took him to the nurse and got some ice and she assured me that he was okay but it was really swollen. So I called the Dr. and made an appointment then called Tim and he calmed me down because I WAS FREAKING OUT! As a Mom until you SEE with your own eyes that your baby is okay, HE'S NOT OKAY! I talked to my sister as I sobbed my eyes out on the way to his school and she said something that I had not thought of yet. 'Amber, just remember, he's tough!' No truer words have been spoken! This child can run smack into a table and shake it off! I took him to see Dr. Berry and she had him wriggle it all over and around and then she sent us for x-rays to Children's Medical Center. Caden was so brave and such a trooper. He sat very still while wearing his 'butterfly decorated x-ray vest'! He even got a sticker for being so good. Dr. Berry called to say it was not broken or fractured which was great news so after rounds of Motrin and ice to take the swelling down he seemed much better.

He was wiped out after the Dr's office trip and a trip to the hospital.
We got home and our tough guy got to eat whatever he wanted for dinner which consisted of string cheese, nutri-grain bars and a pop-tart with chocolate milk!

Random Caden Pictures

Not much going on this past weekend and the week prior.

As a child I used to love to water color paint in coloring books. I found a few books and Caden had a blast 'painting'. He looks so serious here!

Caden woke up from his nap Sunday and came in the media room and saw his video monitor. He was showing it to Daddy in the picture. We asked him if Caden was in bed when he was looking at the live feed from his room and he said, 'nooooooo'. I took Caden to the Dr. last week because he had a runny nose and a cough. The Dr. saw his tonsils and said they were 'massive' and gave us some antibiotics. Here he is at the Dr's office 'hiding'.We chilled at home and watched A LOT of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Here we are sitting in the media room relaxing.

Mom and Dad gave Caden this Zebra for a Christmas present when he was 1. He still loves this thing and bounces up and down on it! Click HERE for a trip down memory lane with Zippy the Zebra!

Sleepy Baby Caden

Anyone who knows Caden knows that he does not just fall asleep anywhere! He has always been the type of kid that sleeps best in his bed. We can literally count on one hand how many times (other than the newborn stage) that he has just fallen out asleep!

Today was his Valentine Party at school so one can assume he had a plethora of sugar that clearly placed him in a coma around 7:30 tonight! I happened to have my phone next to me and started up the video camera as he snored away in my lap!

Due to our 2 snow days last week Caden's Valentine Party at school was postponed until today! I left my camera with Mrs. Alisha and Mrs. Krystal and they did an awesome job of taking some pictures of Cade Man in his 'element'!Here he is coloring his pink 'ewe'.

SURPRISE!

This past weekend Tim, Caden and I traveled south for my sister's 30th Surprise Birthday Party! It has been crazy keeping such a big secret from her because we talk and text all the time! There were a couple of close calls, but in the end she swears she did not suspect a thing!

Scott and Jim (his uncle) did an amazing job getting all the decorations and decorating for the party along with Carol (his aunt) and Connie (his mom). I was in charge of all the invitations and getting all the RSVP's back and my mom was in charge of making her famous birthday cake with butter cream icing! The event turned out marvelous!

Here is the cake table! The flowers were gorgeous and were a gift to Kari from Jim and Carol. I love this picture of Kari from her senior year! She could have sooooo been a JC Penney model! HA!

The balloons looked amazing and were such the 'icing on the cake' for the party. Here are Caden, me, Joyce, Mom, Carol and Susan (Scott's sister) waiting for the star of the party to arrive. Another picture of the cake table. The cake Mom made is on the left.

I think Mom did an amazing job with the pink and black! Kari's nicknames are written around the border of the cake. Kari loved high heels when she was a little girl so the play heels were such a cool touch!

Surprise! Scott had the party at his office building on the first floor and got her there by telling her he was taking Bella, Lane and her out for a nice family Valentine Surprise...little did she know!

She was overcome with emotion and it was amazing to see her face when she looked into the room at all her family and friends.
