Sippy Cup Success!

Caden finally mastered the art of using a sippy cup! I think he believes the cup doubles as a teething apparatus as well! But, whatever works! As you can tell in the pictures and video, he got his first mosquito bite yesterday too! BIG DAY for Baby Caden!!

We obviously love the Dallas Stars so we dressed Caden in Stars Garb since they are playing tonight. Caden is excited about the trade that gave the Stars Brad Richards so... GO STARS!

Bananas & New Dr.

In the spirit of trying yet another 'new' thing, here is Caden eating bananas...the jury is still out on the verdict, but judge for yourself!

Today I took Caden to a new pediatrician. She is actually the Dr. that was on call when he was hospitalized with RSV in December. He still has this crazy cough since Feb. 11th, so she put him on some antibiotics and we are hoping he is on his way to a full recovery!

Sippy Cup? Not so much...

So at his 6 month appointment, Dr. B said he was ready for a sippy cup. Well, someone didn't give the memo to Cade Man...he's not a fan...

He liked the bottle sooooo much more...oh well...if at first you don't succeed...

Sitting & Sleeping

Caden has mastered sitting up 'unassisted' for more than 10 seconds! Whoo hoo! Here he is playing with his toy in the media room. I also included a short video of him playing as well.

We absolutely love watching him sleep. So I snuck in his room and adjusted my camera to 'night' to take some pictures. I could not see him while looking at my camera as it was obviously dark in there. However, looks like the joke is on Mommy, because he certainly saw me!

6 Month Check Up

Today was Caden's 6 month appointment. He had a cough yesterday and a bit of fever so it was good we were going in today anyway. Dr. B believes it could be allergies, so we are going to try some Zyrtec this week and see if we can rid him of the cough!

Here are his stats for today:

17-5.5 lbs (50%)

28 inches (95%)

He got his first toy today at the Dr's office too! His nurse Ms. Elizabeth gave him a little tug boat that squeaks!

We have been told we can try some finger foods now based on his development. So we are going to try some bananas, crackers, peaches, etc... I will post pictures! Anyway, no pictures for yesterday as he was not feeling so hot.

My Play Date With Stetson!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Baby Caden!!!!!

Tim and I cannot believe that Caden is already 6 months old. We are absolutely in awe of our precious Caden. We love him more than I think he will ever know! We love his laugh and his infectious smile that greets us whenever we walk into a room! Happy Birthday Caden!!!

Ribbit...

Caden loves his frog with the crazy eyes. Mrs. Ruth got this for him along with a book to go along with it. I'm not sure what he loves more, the frog or hearing Mommy 'ribbit' at him trying to get him to smile!

Okay Mommy...I'm done...

Pre-Bath Time Entertainment

If any of you parents are schedule-oriented like we are, then you know there is a certain time of night prior to bed time or bath time (but not quite last bottle of the night time), where your little one tends to fuss. Could be 10 minutes till bedtime, 30 minutes who knows, it varies according to child! Well Caden's bed time is 8 and his bath time is about 7:45...so tonight's window was 7:30 to 7:45. So Mommy and Daddy made fools of themselves trying to keep him happy/occupied until that magic time!

Phase One looks innocent enough, he's smiling, Daddy's on the floor playing with him...
Then Daddy put the Crazy Giraffe on his head...we're still looking good...

and BAM, just like that, he's done and on his way to losing his mind! He has figured out our game, and he is over it!
Ahh...the joys of playing the clock game! Then we were off to bath time and then bed time and all is well in the world of the Iveys.

I Couldn't Hang With the Grown Ups...

Well, I was good and I did get a present while out shopping with Mom and Dad. Check out my hat my Dad got me. He carried me all over the mall and in Target in this cool carrier. I'm not used to such long outings...I couldn't hang with the grownups and had to just take a nap...I don't know how these adults do this all day without a nap! Who ever heard of such?! Anyway, I'm back at daycare today, but I wanted to let you all know that I was good and got a present!

My Fellow Americans...

Happy President's Day to you all...I'm just chilling at home with the fam, because my daycare is closed. So I'm practicing teething, crawling and all sorts of other business on my day off...(see the drool)...I think I'm going to the mall later today to get birthday gifts for my GiGi and Aunt Kay...I'm sure if I'm good I might get something for myself too...

Okay, so today Caden was just hanging out with his pacifier in his mouth...I caught this on video and was dying laughing...

Here we are after a Sunday walk in our umbrella stroller! We of course had to have our sunglasses on and surprisingly HE LOVED THEM! Daddy walked the dogs while Mommy pushed Caden. What an awesome day for a walk!
