Caden's Christmas Program December 9th

It has been a while since I have blogged!  So much has happened in the month of December we are wondering where the time has gone!

Caden had his school Christmas program and did amazing!  We were so proud of him and so glad that both his grandmothers got to attend!

Here he is coming down the aisle before he spotted us!

Here he is just as he passed us.  That's Tim's hand with the video camera.  I love this 'shy' look he has!

There were a lot of people at the program, but Caden is in the very center of the picture pointing during one of the songs.  We love his school and he has grown by leaps and bounds since attending it.  All the kids did such a great job and it was fun to watch him sing all the songs that he would sing at home leading up to the program.

Merry Christmas

This year Caden has been so into Santa Claus and all that comes with it.  Each night in December we read the story of the birth of Jesus and he popped out all the characters from the book to set up his very own Nativity scene.  He really understands it all and prides himself on telling us that there was 'no room at the inn for Mary and Jospeh'.  Melts our hearts.
Christmas Eve night we sat out 4 cookies for Santa and Caden insisted that Santa needed Chocolate milk rather than 'white' milk.  So chocolate it was!
We also had fun with the Elf.  He moved every night and Caden looked forward to finding where he was each morning when he would wake up.  However, on Christmas morning, he appeared in the Christmas tree (as you can see in the picture below).  More about why later...
He was so thrilled to see all the presents under the tree just for him.  He would open one and study it and begin to play with it.  We would say, 'Caden, there are more presents!'  He would then say, 'OH!' and grab another one to open.  It truly is the best experience in the world to watch Christmas through the eyes of a child.
Each Thursday night I take Caden to the local library for story time and to check out books.  He found 2 books he was really into the past few months.  One was 'Going to the Zoo' and the other was 'Won't You Be My Kisseroo?'  Santa brought him both for Christmas and he was so excited!
He is very much into the CARS movie so Santa brought him more CARS 'cars' this year too!
He also got a yellow Tonka dump truck as well!  He hauls all his toys around in it.
I was more excited about Santa bringing him the Hungry Hippos game!  We have had so much fun playing that each night since Christmas and Caden is VERY GOOD at it!  Once while we were playing, I got one of the balls and I asked Caden why he didn't go after it with his hippo.  His reply, 'Mommy, my hippos not hungry right now.'  Well, there ya have it!
We always do the stockings last, so here's a quick shot of him digging into his stocking.  He got lots of candy and some color change CARS cars.
Now, back to the elf...He left a note for Mommy and Daddy inside the tree next to him.  The note said that there was one more large gift for Caden in his playroom.  It was a new bike!  CARS themed of course!
He also got a Lightning McQueen helmet to wear while riding his bike.  Here is is on the first ride outside.
Pushing off!
On his way with Daddy getting it on video!
Lightning FAST!
He rode down the sidewalk and around the cul de sac and would yell, 'Mommy Daddy, look, I'm really far away!'
The return trip.
He had to see himself on video.
Love my guys.
We had an amazing Christmas and pray that you all have a very Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve at Grammie's!

The festivities continued the next weekend at Grammie's house.  She kept Caden the week of Christmas and ironically, I got strep throat that same week so I was so glad that Caden was with her and not home where he could get sick!  They had a great time going to every mall in Dallas!  They hit the Galleria, North Park to see the trains and then Neiman's downtown!  She has a fishing game that she and Caden play and the picture below is of Caden showing Daddy how it is done!
We thought this was such a good picture.  He loves sitting near the fireplace and here he is posing perfectly for the camera!

Having a cheeto!
Standing in front of Grammie's tree near all the presents!
He was such a good helper with handing out all the gifts for Grammie.
Then he sat patiently while everyone took a turn opening.
Here he is helping Daddy out.
Caden got a really cool helicopter from Grammie and I think that is what she is putting together in the picture below.
He got a cow piggy bank that counts his money and a clock that teaches him how to tell time!
He got a gas station, car wash, parking garage combo toy that came with cars that drive in and get gas and he loves it!  He sat forever on the floor playing with it after Daddy put it together for him.

Here he is watching Grammie open her gift.
It is a bird from the Basket Case.  She had picked this up and admired it on one of our shopping trips.  She loved it!
We 3 Iveys!
We had such a great time at her house and enjoyed the famous Tater Tot Casserole and a peanut butter pie I made along with other sweets and goodies!

Christmas in Conroe

We had a great time in Conroe celebrating with my family for Christmas.  We took tons of pictures and the kids had such a great time with all the presents.

Here are Daddy and Caden before the opening of all the gifts started!
We did not plan this, but all 3 kiddos had green on that night!  Lane, Bella, Caden.
The King of the video camera!
Caden got a really cool book from GiGi and Poppa about all sorts of animals!  It is like an encyclopedia of animals!  He also got an automatic pitching machine toy from them.  It dispenses the baseballs right to ya!  Caden can't wait for warmer weather to try it out!
All 3 kids sat in front of the TV so we could see them opening the gifts all at once!  Organized CHAOS!
Caden got a Stars tobogan from GiGi and Poppa!
Mom opening her Scentsy warmer!
Dad was the 'toy putter together' person that night!  All the kids brought the toys to him to open and assemble.
I love my Lanerbugs!
Caden got a monkey pillow pet from the Reaves.  He had to try it out right away!
Kari made this apron for him!  The little monster on the front has braces just like Mommy and Caden's name is on the top.
He got a CARS scooter from the Reaves as well and has had quite the time riding it around.
He loves 'trashy trucks' and got a big one from them that has an automatic lift for the trash cans!
Kari, Mom and me with the delicious dessert Mom made!  Notice the pink aprons Kari and I got from Mom and Dad!  Super cute!
GiGi with her little honeys!
Poppa's turn!

We 3 Iveys!

Breakfast with Santa

Caden's class was surprised by a visit from Santa today!  We were told to dress Caden in his pj's and bring donuts to class.  I was so happy when Mrs. Farouk asked if I could help out so I could actually see Caden SEE Santa!

Tabitha's Mom and myself were in a room with all the children keeping the classes entertained until it was time to see Santa.  The kids had no idea!  They took them in groups of 3 into the room and they were so excited once they spotted him!

Here is Caden and JD waiting their turn to sit in Santa's lap!
We are so very happy that Caden is such a fan of Santa this year!
 Group shot!
Here are the teachers.  Caden's teacher is on the far right in the white blouse.
After seeing Santa it was time to eat breakfast!  What a FEAST they had!  Donut holes, kolaches, fruit, milk and orange juice!  Here they all are enjoying the spread!
 Caden with a mouthful!
