Caden and the Burger

Last night Caden and I went to Home Depot to get some flowers and so I ran to Braum's afterward to get him a burger. I've gotten him one before but like all 1st time Mommies do, I would cut it in pieces, etc. Yeah, he proved to me he was in charge and held it like a man and consumed about 2/3rds of it before putting it down! Aunt Kay would be proud. She always has to make a trip to Braum's when she comes to visit.

Wedding on Saturday Night

Saturday night Tim and I went to Lavarris and Amy's wedding. We had a great time getting out and about.

Thanks to our best friends J, Jamie and Stetson for watching our Cade Man! Jamie is my best friend because only a best friend would offer to babysit when she herself is going into the hospital on Wednesday of this week to be induced on Thursday to have her baby girl! She's a rock star! Thank you so much guys for keeping Caden. He had a blast!

After Playing Dress Up

Tim quite possibly caught the cutest pose of Caden. He climbed up in the chair by the office desk and just struck this pose. I of course LOVE IT!

Caden as Zorro

Caden plays in my make up drawer each morning as I get ready. MOST mornings he will pull an item out, run around with it and then put it up. Today was NOT most mornings. He found my eye liner and decided to try a moustache on for size. He did the right side and Daddy drew the left. What do you think?

Misc. Pics of Caden

Mom downloaded some photos from her camera and sent these to me. I know they are random, but we didn't take any photos this weekend.
Caden is starting to talk more, 'Bye Bye', 'Nigh Nigh' are the two newest phrases. He always said, 'Bye', but now says it twice. It's pretty funny to hear! We cannot wait to get him in the pool now that it is suppose to warm up!

Here is a photo of Mom and Dad with him at Christmas time. I cannot believe how much he has changed. Here are Lane and Caden on our way to church.
Cade Man in Poppa's UT cap.
Kari, me and Caden after Kari made a trip to Dallas to visit.
Here is Caden one morning when Mom and I arrived at Mom and Dad's church. He had kicked off his shoe and the look on his face is like, 'He he...I did it again!'

I'll try to take some current shots of him this week.

Friday Night

Here are some random pictures from Friday night. Here we are decorating for the shower. When us 3 girls get together we just laugh the entire time. Kari was standing on a bar stool hanging this balloon, when it popped! She fell off the bar stool because it scared her. We could not stop laughing! I can't remember if this was the 1st try or the 2nd at attaching a balloon, but it was loads of fun! Here is Caden opening gifts from Mom and Kari. He got these two balls to play in the pool with, 2 outfits, a toy camera and lots more goodies. He was having a blast!
Kari took Mom and I to Cheddars for dinner Friday night and here is GiGi and Caden giggling. Caden loves to be tickled on his neck!
Here is Mom, Kari and Caden. We took 3 pictures and in each of the three one of them is looking down and not looking at the camera!
Here is Caden with ketchup on his face and not from fries. He decided to try his grilled cheese in it! Too funny!
I had a nice Mother's Day as well. We went to church with Pat and she kept Caden so we could rest for the afternoon! Pat gave me some money to go and get a pedicure! Tim and Caden got me a Willowtree figurine with a mother on the floor and a little boy reaching up for the mom. It was a great weekend!
Here is Kari's posting from Friday night. Click here.

Jamie's Baby Shower

My Mom, sister and I threw a baby shower for my best friend Jamie this weekend! Here are some pictures from the shower.
This was the table in the entryway with Jamie's baby book for people to sign. The boxes are chocolate truffles that Candyce made.
Here are the same truffles that we had out on the table. They were delicious!
These are the pacifier cupcakes made by my sister Kari. It is 2 lifesavers with a pink jellybean!

This is the diaper cake that Kari made as well! It was adorable!

Happy Mother's Day!

We hope you all of our 'Mothers' have a fantastic Mother's Day.

Mom I love you more than words! You were and are such an amazing example to Kari and me.

Mothers and daughters
Were daughters and mothers
Not so long ago.

We give and take
And take and give
Along time's endless row.

Love is passed
And love received
To be passed on again:
A precious heirloom
Twice, twice blessed,
A spiritual cardigan.

I'll put it onAnd treasure it,
The me I have received,
And when the rolesReverse again,
I'll have what I most need.

So may our love
Go on and on,
A hundred thousand years;
Mothers and daughters,
Daughters and mothers,
Through joys and other tears.

Not My Child...

I follow a blog where the mother does a 'Not Me Mondays' post on her blog each Monday. The idea behind it is to post things that have actually happened to her during the week prior, but the posting is styled as if it didn't happen to her. For example, 'I most certainly did not fall down the escalator at the mall' when in reality she did.

So this posting is like that, but it is about Caden.
Each afternoon after picking him up and getting him home, I let him walk with me in the sun room to let the dogs go outside. While they are outside I fill up their bowls with food and water. I then go and change clothes, take my jewelry off, etc...while Caden is watching cartoons or busying himself playing with toys.
Well yesterday MY CHILD MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT GRAB A HANDFUL OF DOG FOOD AND START TOWARD HIS MOUTH WITH IT. Not my child. Had he done this, I would have probably just yelled like I were being attacked in a parking garage alone! I may have said, 'NOOOOOOOOOOOO CADEN!!!!' and he probably would have dropped all the dog food from his hands and poked his lip out like he was going to start crying! Then-had this happened-I might have said, 'Hey punkin! Can you open your mouth and let Mommy see your toothies?' in a sing-song-psycho-trying to be calm-Mommy voice. Had all of that happened, I would have noticed that this handful I saw was the first handful of food and not second, so we would have been safe!
So, if all that dog food stuff really did happen, after that, I may have walked in the living room to find that MY CHILD MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT HAVE THE KEY TO THE GAS FIREPLACE IN THE KEYHOLE TURNING IT WHILE LAUGHING! Had this happened, again back to the (yelling as though I were being attacked in a parking garage) probably would have occurred! At which point my child may have come running to me (let's say) on his tipey toes with the key in his outstretched hand perhaps saying 'Uh Oh!'
And if all the above actually happened, would you believe that while changing his diaper later in the evening, MY CHILD MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT HAVE A RAVIOLI SHOVED DOWN HIS DIAPER EITHER? I mean, really, these stories are totally not related to Caden...NOT MY CHILD!

Fun With Markers

MiMi got Caden a Crayola marker set for Christmas and I pulled it out last weekend and then again this weekend to get some pictures. It is interactive and you choose an animal marker and place it in the base and it talks to you! Caden loves it and had a blast.
Being an artist takes a lot of concentration. Here he is laughing at the markers talking to him!
Each time they would talk to him, he would start clapping! He loved the yellow lamb and the green owl the most. He loves saying 'OWL'...however in Caden's world, 'owl' is two syllables!
Great gift MiMi! Thank you so much!

Get Your Slide Show Fix by May 31st!

We got an e-mail saying the 'Photagious' company is out of business now and we have until May 31st to keep watching the slide shows Tim and I have created before they are NO MORE. We were able to retrieve and save all of our photos that were in the slide shows though. The slide shows will no longer be able to be viewed after May 31st and they have no way of us copying the slide show to save in some other format. That means, they will no longer be available after May 31st so if you want to see them click on them along the right side of our page. Thanks!
