Hide and Go Seek?

Caden asked me to play Hide and Go Seek with him just now so I did.  I counted to 10 and then said 'Ready or Not, Here I Come!'  I get up off the couch only to find him crouched down on the floor in front of the fire place.  I told him he was suppose to hide somewhere.  I suggested a closet or bedroom, etc.  I started counting again and I hear him slam the door to his bedroom.  Again with the Ready or Not, Here I Come and I get up and he opens his bedroom door and says, "Here I AM MOMMY!"

Then he tells me it is my turn to go hide.  He counts to 10 and I run into my bedroom and hide in my closet.  He then says "HERE I COME!"  Then he says, "Mommy?  Where are you?"  I say nothing hoping he will open the closet door, but nothing...

So I waited about a  minute and started feeling sorry for him and came out thinking that he would be in my room waiting patiently for me to come out.  WRONG!  I walked all through the house only to find him sitting in the media room watching cartoons!

I said, "CADEN!  I thought we were playing hide and go seek?"  He said, "No Mommy, I don't like that game, I don't want you to scare me."

Wow...mission failure....

Jell-O NO!

Caden has been sick the past few weeks, nasty cold, coughing, etc.  I packed his lunch yesterday and put some Jell-O in it thinking that would feel good to his throat!  I mean, my Mom always gave us Jell-O and it did help us feel better!

So on the way home here is our conversation:

Me:  Caden, did you eat your Jell-O today?  Mommy gave it to you to make your throat feel all better.
Caden:  NO I did not eat my Jell-O, I don't like Jell-O it makes me throw up in my throat.
Me:  (Nearly wrecked the car laughing!)

Above is the Jell-O that was in his lunch after we got home.  He never even opened it!

Ahhhhh....kids!

SNOW

We had our first snow of 2011!  Whoo hoo!  The night before the big 'snow', Caden got to sit outside with us while we warmed up by the chiminea and watched TV.  Here we are all warm and toasty.
The snow fell so we told Caden that after he woke up from his nap we would all go outside and play in it!  Guess how short his nap was!!  Last year Caden was not so sure at all about snow.  He did not like it in his face or on him at all!  But this year, a different story!

Here he is headed toward the snowman we all built.  He was a slender snowman, not like Frosty.  Hey, we were thinking 'healthy living' this time!

Caden and his friend 'Snowman'.  Such an original name isn't it?
He had so much fun helping build it and laying down in the snow to make snow angels!

Judging by last year's snowfall, I'm sure we will get to experience it again this year!  We had so much fun and we were so happy Caden loved it this year, unlike last year.  Click HERE and HERE.

Happy Birthday Bestie!

Happy Birthday to my Bestie, Jamie!  I hope you have a fantastic day and I can't wait to celebrate with you today for lunch!  Love you!

New Year, New Bed

Our Cade Man is growing up!  We ordered him a toddler bed to replace the convertible crib he had.  While the old one functioned as a 'toddler' type bed, it still had the crib slats that made him look like a caged monkey!

He was so excited after school because he knew the new bed was being delivered.

We decided to go to the gym while Daddy put the bed together.  As we were walking past his room, I heard the loud delivery truck noise and Caden did too!  He ran to the door.  Here he is waiting on him to bring the bed inside.

The delivery guy brought the box inside and Caden kept yelling, 'My big boy bed, that's my big boy bed!  My Daddy will put it together and we are going to the gym!'  The guy was really sweet and gave him high fives and told him 'Congratulations!'
Daddy put it all together and while we don't have the stuff in his room quite situated the way we want it yet, here he is in his bed.  We got him new CARS bedding which he LOVES!
He was scratching his nose in this picture.  It was so funny because the picture was not taking at bedtime.  Tim finished the bed and set it up and Caden crawled right in, clothes and all and told us to turn off the lights and shut the door.  So we did and he laid there for a while...until Daddy said he was going to watch the Stars game, then Caden bolted out of bed to join him!
