12 Weeks and 4 Days

We went to the Dr today to have the NT sonogram and were able to bring Caden so he could see his 'baby'.  He had a great time but became bored after a little bit of watching the baby squirm around!  I think he enjoyed Mommy having blood work done even more!  Everything 'anatomy wise' looked good, we will have the results of the NT sono and blood work after we have the 2nd part done between 16 and 19 weeks.  But all is well so far!

Easter Day

Well our Easter was not AS fun as it should have been.  I have a major sinus infection that kept us from even going to church.  Not fun at all, but we made the most of it!  Saturday night as I was tucking Caden in, I told him that the Easter bunny was going to leave some presents for him in his room.  This completely freaked him out!  He said, 'I don't want him coming in my room, tell him to leave my 'stuff' in the media room!'  I conveyed the message to the bunny so here we go!

Here he is waiting at the entry to the media room!  Doesn't he look excited?

He was most excited about his hollow chocolate bunny!  Seriously, he thought that was the best gift of all!  He busted this package open and was eating it like he had not eaten in days!  Tim told him not to eat the entire bunny or he might get sick!  He had not even had breakfast yet!  He ate about 1/3 of it and I told him to wait right there while I ran to get a wet paper towel to clean off his hands.  I had put the bunny back in the box and when I came back into the media room he was sneaking huge bites looking toward the kitchen!  Little stinker!

Here he is showing me AGAIN, the bunny!
He also got some Reese's Pieces.  We asked him 'What is it?'  He said, 'CARROTS!'  The pieces are shaped into a cone shaped carrot package!
He got a basket full of pirate stuff!  Here his is in his pirate hat!

Complete with the patch and hook!  He ran around saying he was Captain Hook!
After I called my OB/GYN and had her call in a Z-pak, I ran to CVS to pick it up.  Before lunch we decided to hide eggs out front and let him 'hunt' for them!  Here he is about to run outside!
Tim and I had fun hiding them and then watching him find them all.  We cannot believe how grown up he looks and is!
We hid them everywhere, even behind the bushes!
And under the bushes!
And on top of the bushes!
Showing off his orange egg!
Almost found them all!
One was under a rock!
They were everywhere!
Mission Accomplished!  He found them all!
Grammie kept Caden Friday night and took him to see the movie 'HOP'!  He had a great time and keeps walking around singing the song from the movie!  Thanks Grammie for a fun day out!

Saturday night before we ate dinner (we always have Caden pray), he said, 'Thank you for our blessings and our food and thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for us.'  Tim and I are so proud of our 3 YEAR OLD for at such a young age understanding the true meaning of Easter!

Night Before Easter

The night before Easter Caden and Mommy dyed eggs!  We had a cool kind this year with liquid dye rather than the dye that dissolves and requires vinegar!  This stuff just mixed with the water!

Here is Caden stirring his egg in the dye.
Time for blue!

After we finished dying them, we put silly eyes and mouth stickers on them.  Caden is making a face like the egg faces!
Oh and No Comments about the Halloween table cloth.  I was protecting my table and I was sick and grabbed the first thing I saw! :)

K3 Easter Party

Yesterday I was so excited to get to help out Caden's class at the Easter Party.  Here is Caden with both K3 classes waiting anxiously to hunt Easter eggs on the playground.

He has his basket and is ready to go!
I was in charge of the Coloring Center so I snapped this photo of him coloring Jesus and a bunny rabbit!
Here he is at the Painting Center painting an Easter egg.
Here he is at the Dinosaur Center.  It was so fun watching him in his element at school!  He acted as though I wasn't even there!
Here he is dyeing his Easter eggs!

Swinging on the playground!  Love my Cade Man!

Telling Caden About the Baby

I want to get all of this in writing should I forget how it all happened (pregnant head will do that to a Mom to Be).

Tim and I were waiting until our first appointment at the Dr's office before we told Caden about the arrival!  Our appointment was on March 28th.  All was well, obviously, so we came home and night decided we would tell Caden.

He was playing cars at the coffee table so Tim asked him to come sit down so we could talk to him.  Tim started off by asking him if he remembers us telling him to be careful around Mommy's tummy because she didn't feel well.  Caden nodded and then Tim told him that we had been to the Dr today and there is a baby in Mommy's tummy!

We explained that he was going to have a baby brother or a baby sister.  He said, 'But I want a baby sister.'  We then explained that we will have to wait and see.

He said 'I want to see' and then lifted my shirt and said that he didn't see 'it'.  We told him that we had pictures to show him and so we pulled them out and handed them to him.  He studied them and looked really hard at them.

He then said, 'Mommy and Daddy went to the Dr today and got a baby.'  As if we drove up and she handed one to us!  It was so precious!  We explained that we had prayed for a baby and that God answered our prayers and he interrupted and said he wanted to 'take the baby out'!  We explained the way the baby grows by reminding him of his rubber turtle that GiGi and Poppa gave him.  We had to put the turtle in a sink with water and wait for days for it to grow.  He grasped that concept thankfully.

The rest of the conversation went like this:

Caden:  When the baby comes out can I give it kisses?

Tim and Amber:  Yes, of course.

Caden:  Can I say, 'I LOVE YOU BABY!' ?

Tim and Amber:  Yes.

Caden:  Can I drop the baby on the floor?

Tim and Amber:  NO!  YOU CAN'T DROP BABIES ON THE FLOOR, YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL.

I'm going to go with 'I think he was just testing us to see if we were paying attention'... :)

Tim explained that Mommy's belly will continue to grow and that he can actually talk to the baby and feel the baby kick.

Caden interrupted and said, 'We do not kick, that's not nice.'  So funny!

We were thoroughly enjoying this conversation and Q&A with him when he abruptly said, 'Um, Mommy/Daddy you want to play cars with me?'

And we're done...

He is going to be such a great big brother.  He is always wanting to talk to the baby and about the baby!  We cannot wait!

Ramblings . . .

I know that lately it seems I am only pretty much posting Wordless Wednesday pictures and am late in the day on Wednesdays posting those!  Well, I have a good reason.  I'VE BEEN SO SICK!  Not throw up sick but completely and utterly nauseous sick!

I am throwing out the prediction right now that this child growing inside of me must be a GIRL!  I have no scientific evidence to prove this except for my expert opinion that a sweet precious little boy would NEVER do this to his Mommy!  Caden certainly did NOT!  You would not have known I was pregnant with Caden had you not seen my growing belly!  I was the envy of all my friends and they will all attest (or they better) that I predicted-while pregnant with Caden-that there was no way I'd have it that good again if we had a 2nd baby.  This time, I'm so mad that I am 100% correct!

At times I wish I could just throw up, but I've been told by my best friend that it would not help.  It is so crazy that 2 pregnancies can be so totally different.  There, I said it, that's my proof and opinion that I must be carrying a GIRL!  I will eat my words when we do find out, but for now, I'm blaming it on the over abundant flow of Estrogen coursing through my body.

Nothing that prevents or is suppose to help nausea has worked, they only provide a temporary reprieve!  I even have a prescription for Zofran which I'm told is what they give chemotherapy patients who battle nausea.  30 minute reprieve!

Yes I know that it will all be worth it in the end (say all the smiling Mothers that I know).  YOU DON'T THINK I KNOW THAT!?!  I've held Caden when he was born and I was deliriously happy with joy!  BUT-I think I've earned the right to complain a bit.  Nausea is N.O.T. F.U.N.!  I should own stock in Keebler crackers and Ginger Ale...seriously, someone get me a contract with them.  'For temporary and I do mean temporary relief of nausea...eat Keebler and drink Ginger Ale...'

I could totally rock the commercials.

Caden 'Talking'

Last night as I was getting Caden ready for bed he said he wanted to talk to 'his baby'.  He leaned over and put his head near my tummy and said, 'Hey Baby!  Are you a baby brother or a baby sister?'  Then he looked up at me and I asked him what the baby said.  He told me the baby said, 'I love you Caden Ivey!'

As Tim said last night, Caden is really making this more fun!
