My office and Caden's school was closed Monday for President's Day. Caden was still coughing-not sure when he will get over all that-so we stayed home and played outside! The weather was beautiful, and the only thing missing was Tim! He had to work.
Last weekend Tim raised Caden's swing and we converted it to a 'big boy' swing and Caden loves it. Look how long my 'Baby's' legs are!
When Caden was born or maybe when I was pregnant with him, Auntie Kay got him a 'Bug Collector Kit'. You can imagine my excitement at that! :| Just kidding, Kay! Well I broke it out for him Monday. It had been up in his closet and he had a blast with it. It came with a magnifying glass, tweezers to 'collect' the bugs and a kit with netting to 'house' the bugs.
Here he is looking for bugs!
Getting an up close and personal view of the ants.We found some snail shells and a few flowers that he put in his kit, but no bugs. Darn... :)
Next it was sidewalk chalk time. Tim and I played this with him last weekend too and I had an idea for Tim to trace my body on the sidewalk as if I had been killed and it was a crime scene! I know, cool right? So Monday Caden and I drew animals and letters and all sorts of stuff.
Caden wanted to be 'traced', so I traced his body while he was on the sidewalk too!
You can barely make out the outline, but it is in blue and his head is at the top of the picture.
Then we played bubbles! After many times of telling him to not put the wand ON his lips, he finally got the hang of it and was having fun. It was very windy, so we both got lazy and just held the wands up and let the wind blow the bubbles for us!
After his nap he wanted to go back outside. We walked outside and the temperature had dropped! We had to run back inside and get some warmer clothes on! We filled up the bubble mower and he 'mowed' the sidewalk.
Yesterday after I picked him up from school, I told him we would go to the park. So I busted out the jogger stroller and we ran to the park. Well I ran as I pushed him!
Oddly enough, there was a little girl-you can see her right above his arm in the background in a turquoise shirt-named Caden (not sure of her spelling). It was so bizarre to hear her dad-in the green shirt-yell "CADEN" and my son turn around. So I had to ask him. And indeed his 'daughter's' was named Caden. I've never heard of a girl named that. You can imagine how confused my Caden was!
I loved this picture of him with the sun in the background.
