Random Caden Sayings...

We are not short on comedy in the Ivey household these days!  Caden is the comedian and is more funny by the day!  Here are just some random stories/comments from our 1st born!

This week we had a fire in the dumpster at my office building.  I thought Caden would think it was so cool that a fire truck had to come and put the fire out, etc.  So I explained the entire story to him in the car on the way home and he said, 'Mommy?  Did you freak out and (puts his hands over his head) and say, "OH MY LANDS!"?'  I was cracking up and asked him where he heard that from.  He said his teacher Mrs. Quidley says it ALL the time!

Caden and I were in Kroger this week and he wanted to ride in the cart part of the cart, not the seat.  I handed him each item as I grabbed them and he would put it beside him in the cart.  I pushed the cart over to the meat aisle, grabbed a package of hamburger meat and handed it to him.  He put it in the cart as he did all the other items.  I walk over to the dairy section and he's in the cart about 10 feet from me.  I hear some lady say, 'Ma'am?  Ma'am?'  I turn around irritated because I do not talk to strangers, and she says, 'Your son is poking holes in your hamburger meat...'  She was very sweet and grandmotherly, so it wasn't like she was tattling!  I turn to see Caden making moguls out of my hamburger meat!  Thankfully he had not punctured the saran wrap!

Last week I was in Tim's closet putting away some clothes and Caden was in our bedroom...I heard him ask something, but it was kind of muffled because I was in the closet.  I asked him to repeat it and he said, 'Mommy, it's okay for boys to wear breastesses, right?'  I nearly choked to death...I said, 'What honey?' (in a sing-song sort of way)...He said the same thing...I said, 'Where did you hear that word?'  He said 'You have them in your closet!'  I was horrified and terribly confused...I said, 'Show me.'  So he pointed to my DRESSES!  He actually said, 'Mommy, it's okay for boys to wear dresses, right?'  He had just seen a Scottish guy in a kilt on one of his Xbox games!  WHEW!  I nearly had a stroke!

As most parents do, we often struggle with Caden wanting to talk all the way through dinner, etc without eating.  One day a few weeks back he said 'Mommy, guess what!  Tonight, I'm going to sit in my chair, I'm going to eat my dinner, I'm not going to screwb (screw) around, I'm not going to talk, I'm going to eat my dinner so you don't have to say, 'CADEN!  STOP SCREWBING AROUND AND EAT YOUR DINNER!' that will be a great idea, right?'
*********************
One day when Cameron was crying, Caden came running into the livingroom and said, 'MOMMY!  CAMERON'S CRYING!  HE WANTS TO EAT YOUR CHEST!'  Sheesh...
*********************
That's all for now!  Check back later...he's a barrel of laughs, that kid!
