This year Caden has been so into Santa Claus and all that comes with it. Each night in December we read the story of the birth of Jesus and he popped out all the characters from the book to set up his very own Nativity scene. He really understands it all and prides himself on telling us that there was 'no room at the inn for Mary and Jospeh'. Melts our hearts.
Christmas Eve night we sat out 4 cookies for Santa and Caden insisted that Santa needed Chocolate milk rather than 'white' milk. So chocolate it was!
We also had fun with the Elf. He moved every night and Caden looked forward to finding where he was each morning when he would wake up. However, on Christmas morning, he appeared in the Christmas tree (as you can see in the picture below). More about why later...
He was so thrilled to see all the presents under the tree just for him. He would open one and study it and begin to play with it. We would say, 'Caden, there are more presents!' He would then say, 'OH!' and grab another one to open. It truly is the best experience in the world to watch Christmas through the eyes of a child.
Each Thursday night I take Caden to the local library for story time and to check out books. He found 2 books he was really into the past few months. One was 'Going to the Zoo' and the other was 'Won't You Be My Kisseroo?' Santa brought him both for Christmas and he was so excited!
He is very much into the CARS movie so Santa brought him more CARS 'cars' this year too!
He also got a yellow Tonka dump truck as well! He hauls all his toys around in it.
I was more excited about Santa bringing him the Hungry Hippos game! We have had so much fun playing that each night since Christmas and Caden is VERY GOOD at it! Once while we were playing, I got one of the balls and I asked Caden why he didn't go after it with his hippo. His reply, 'Mommy, my hippos not hungry right now.' Well, there ya have it!
We always do the stockings last, so here's a quick shot of him digging into his stocking. He got lots of candy and some color change CARS cars.
Now, back to the elf...He left a note for Mommy and Daddy inside the tree next to him. The note said that there was one more large gift for Caden in his playroom. It was a new bike! CARS themed of course!
He also got a Lightning McQueen helmet to wear while riding his bike. Here is is on the first ride outside.
Pushing off!
On his way with Daddy getting it on video!
Lightning FAST!
He rode down the sidewalk and around the cul de sac and would yell, 'Mommy Daddy, look, I'm really far away!'
The return trip.
He had to see himself on video.
Love my guys.
We had an amazing Christmas and pray that you all have a very Happy New Year!
