Today is the 5 year anniversary of us losing our niece Emma Grace Reaves.  We loved her and yet never got to know her.  We will again see her one day in Heaven.  We love you Scott, Kari, Lane and Bella...

Just Those Few Weeks
For those few weeks - I had you to myself.
And that seems too short a time to be changed so profoundly.
In those few weeks - I came to know you...and to love you.
You came to trust me with your life, Oh, what a life I had planned for you!
Just those few weeks - when I lost you,
I lost a lifetime of hopes, plans dreams and aspirations..
.a slice of my future simply vanished overnight.
Just those few weeks - it wasn't enough time
to convince others how special and important you were.
How odd, a truly unique person has recently died and no one is mourning the passing.
Just a mere few weeks - and no "normal" person would cry all night
over a tiny, unfinished baby, or get depressed and withdraw
day after endless day.
No one would, so why am I?
You were just those few weeks my little one
You darted in and out of my life too quickly.
But it seems that's all the time you needed to make my life
so much richer and give me a small glimpse of eternity.

Jumperoo

I absolutely loved it when we put Caden in the Jumperoo as a baby and I could not wait for Cameron to be 'mobile' enough to try it out!  He loves it just as much as Caden did.

Sport Number 2!

Caden has added T-ball to his list of sports!  Tim bought him a glove, bat, and T and has been teaching Caden the basics!

We found an empty ball park the other night and Caden practiced hitting off the T!  We think he did great!  He is all registered and ready to go!!!

Easter Day

 I am not sure what it is about me and Easter, but we do not have a great relationship.  My back has been totally jacked up so I rested most of the day, but we did have a good day nonetheless.  Here is the link from last year's Easter...deja vu'!  Click HERE

This was of course Cameron's first Easter, so we snapped a photo of him when he woke up to find his monkey Easter basket in his bed!

The Easter bunny left him a cool ball and a stuffed frog!  I love how he's actually looking in the basket!

There is no candy in here?  Are you kidding me?

Caden waited patiently in front of the media room door to go in and see what the Easter bunny left for him.  If you clicked above on last year's Easter post, you'll understand why the Easter bunny leaves Caden's basket in the mediaroom, rather than his bedroom!

 He got a NIKE Hockey Jersey from E.B.!  How cool is that? 

He was of course most excited about the hollow chocolate bunny!  Again, please reference last year's post!  LOL

He also got a huge piggy bank decorated like a baseball!  He had so much fun putting all the 'silver monies' in the piggy bank. He left the pennies in a box!

It rained at our house and we knew the rain was about to head our way, so we decided to let Caden hunt for eggs outside before the downpour!

I remember being so excited as a little kid getting to find all the eggs!  It is so much fun watching it through your child's eyes.

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  I would be remiss to not mention Caden talking to me about how he was sad that Jesus died on the cross to 'save our sins'...I told him that Jesus did die, but he's alive now and he 'rose again'.  Caden said, 'I know Mommy, isn't that so cool?!'  I think it is Very Cool.

Easter Egg Dying Time

I absolutely LOVE dying Easter eggs!  That's right I said I love dying eggs!  Caden warmed up to it over the years.  He hung with me throughout the process this year rather than getting bored and leaving it all to me!  Which I didn't mind at all! :)

I bought the neon color dying kit this year and we loved how they turned out.
