Not My Child

It has been a while since I posted one of these and since our son provides us with endless 'Not My Child' moments, I thought I would pause and reflect on a couple. Enjoy!

1. Night before last Caden was playing before it was time to go to bed. He was watching TV and walking around with his books, etc. Tim and I were in the kitchen and he walked in and saw our family Christmas card up on the bar. He turned to me and said, 'Mommy? Up!'. I picked up our precious son and handed him the card so he could look at the pictures on it. As I looked at his precious little fingers gripping our card I realized he had not eaten any chocolate and yet his fingers looked LIKE HE HAD BEEN INTO CHOCOLATE! I jerked the card away after getting a whiff of THE NOT SO CHOCOLATE SCENT and rushed him to the sink to wash his hands and then on to the bath to clean him up! Not My Child!
2. Last night I was sitting on the floor wrapping a few presents while the above-mentioned child was quietly playing on the floor with his little snow plow truck. Just playing like he always does, pushing the truck on the floor while I wrapped gifts. I was thinking how nice it was to be on the floor by the Christmas tree in our living room enjoying the moment. My sister called during the 'moment' and I had just started talking to her when - Cut to him jumping up like the house was on fire and grabbing a roll of wrapping paper and choking up on it as if it were a bat and taking a swing at my beautiful Christmas tree, completely destroying one of the large glass balls! Shards of glass shattered everywhere, into gift bags, onto branches of the tree, etc....etc....etc....I was shocked, mad, shocked, MAD, shocked, EVEN MORE MAD!

It is the big red ball on the left below in the picture that was D.E.S.T.R.O.Y.E.D.! But not by MY CHILD.
That is all for now, but I am sure I will have more soon! :)

I still LOVE these posts!! I am still laughing (not at your expense, though). It is always so much easier to giggle when it is NOT MY CHILD! :)
