Caden's 18 Month Appointment

Caden had his 18 month appointment today. I cannot believe he is already 18 months. Time flies! He had 2 shots and was good to go.

Here are his stats:

Weight: 28 lbs 12 oz 80%

Height: 34-3/4 inches 96%

All is well and he will not have to go back for another 6 months!

Tool Work Bench for Caden

Mommy and Daddy got a tool work bench for Caden today while he was at Grammie's house. Will, a little boy in his daycare was looking to get rid of it so Tim and I scooped it up. Although it was about 45 minutes before bedtime by the time we got home from Grammie's, Caden had a blast playing with it and I think Daddy did too! It has a saw, hammer, screwdriver, sander, you name it!Here is Daddy showing Caden how to use the hammer. Guaranteed to make lots of noise!It also came with a cell phone, that -according to Daddy- you need to have just in case you cut your finger and need to dial 911.Here he is checking out the drawer full of goodies that came with it.Will also gave Caden a fire truck that makes noise. Fun With Grammie

Caden spent last night with Grammie so we could have a night out and sleep in! Thanks Grammie for keeping our little monkey! We met at her house tonight for dinner and in honor of Caden's 18 month birthday, she had brownies with candles for him. Daddy and Caden were acting silly. See below as Tim tried taking the brownies away from Caden!For Valentine's Day Grammie got Caden this huge white bear. In the picture below Caden is giving him big hugs!This little guy in the tuxedo dances to a song by Smashmouth called Can't Get Enough of you Baby. Caden loves pushing the button on and off watching it dance! Thanks for the cool toys Grammie and the wonderful dinner and dessert!

Ketchup Face

Isn't it funny that when a baby has food on his face we think, 'Awe, how cute!' However, when we see an adult with food on their face, we think, 'Whoa, how embarrassing, how can he not know that he has that all over his face?!'

I Have ROID Rage

So as you all know, I had my Rhizotomy last Friday and my recovery has been pretty tough to say the least. I was out Monday, worked 1/2 days Tuesday and Wednesday and finally worked a full day today. I was taking 2 of the 5 mg each of Hydrocodone every 4 hours and was still having pain, so my Dr. increased it to 10 mg. Still hurting, he gave me the miracle drug pictured below. Guaranteed to make you talk faster (I talk fast enough anyway) and allow you to single-handily rearrange your child's room by yourself. As you will also see pictured below. Shout out to my Dr. Bierig...he rocks.

BEHOLD THE MIRACLE DRUG:

Caden was speechless. I was the Tazmanian Devil running circles around the poor child.

Our Little MAN

Daddy took Caden Sunday for his hair cut. Here he is from this morning before going to daycare. Daddy had an early morning meeting so it was up to Mommy to 'gel' his hair. Daddy said Mommy did a good job! I think my Baby Caden has become our little Man!Here he is sitting on the toybox that MiMi got him.

Valentine's Day from Tim

I had a fabulous Valentine's Day despite hurting like HADES! Tim surprised me but first told me to stay in the livingroom and don't look through to the sunroom. (He was bringing the gift in through the sunroom into our bedroom.) So Caden and I played in the livingroom while waiting on my surprise. Finally it was time to see what took so long! He told me to go into the bedroom and see what was in there. He had totally redone our bedroom in the blue and brown colors. (SOMETHING I HAD WANTED SO BADLY!) He bought the comfortor and the panels for the windows and everything! I love it! He also of course gave me a bag of chocolate candies! LOVED THAT TOO! I got him a handpainted martini glass, but clearly HE WON THE GIFT CONTEST! Thank you baby! I love our room!

Valentine's Day Gifts from GiGi and Poppa

Here he is opening up his gift. I love how he is now into actually 'opening' gifts. He'll have a blast this Christmas!

Caden got his first Stick Horse! I spent hours as a little kid riding mine around! His has the sound of a horse running and the sound a horse makes! Here is GiGi showing him where to push the button.

He could not wait to try it out.Caden knew exactly what to do with that stick horse. He wouldn't even let us show him how to ride it. He grabbed it and took off!Here he is showing GiGi that the horse can also be a weapon! Perhaps he thinks he can use it like a hockey stick?

Thank you Mom for coming down on your day off to hang out at Baylor Surgicare and to play with Caden Saturday. We love you tons and can't wait to see you again this weekend for Kari's birthday!

Valentine's Day Gifts for Caden

Right Side Rhizotomy

Fun times! If you will remember, the last time I had the rhizotomies, the right side was the worst. Well this 'right' one was super bad as well! They took me back later than my 2:00 appointment so it was a long afternoon to begin with. My fabulous Anesthesiologist gave me my dose of Valium and Fentanyl before taking me back which felt good! Then they did the procedure, thankfully I do not remember waking up during it, although I did because I noticed in recovery that my pillow was stained with mascara (you are on your stomach during the procedure) so clearly I had pain during it, but thankfully I don't remember it! In recovery I woke up screaming in pain. I woke up gripping both rails of the bed and just crying! The nurses gave me 5 rounds of Morphine, 1 shot of Phenergan and then 50 mg of Demerol. I have never hurt so bad in all my life! But the good news is that the pain is normal because the more pain I have, the better the procedure went because they were able to capture the correct nerve! Whoo hoo! Mom stayed Thursday through Saturday and entertained Caden. They had a great time while I rested. Hopefully this will be the last procedure for a long while!

At the Car Wash

Caden absolutely loves going through the car wash! Here he is yesterday just before we drove in. He even dances and bobs his head when the water is spraying the sides of the car!

Thank You Grammie

I had my left side Rhizotomy yesterday so Grammie picked Caden up from Mrs. Sarah's and took him to her house to spend the night! They had a blast! Thank you so much Grammie for taking little Cade Man so I could stay home today and rest! We love you so much!

Valentine Gift from the Reaves

Caden got a surprise in the mail today from Uncle Scottie, Aunt Kay, Lanerbugs and Bella! Look at how 'Martha Stewartesque' the wrap job is! I love it!Caden was having fun actually 'opening' the gift!
