This evening we took Caden to see the Plano Balloon Festival. We would have taken him to the morning launch, but Mommy and Daddy were not excited about getting up at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday! We felt like storm chasers driving all over to see them land, which by the way is my new favorite thing to watch rather than watch them take off. Here are a few we saw when we started the evening. My 2 favorite guys!
This one landed really close. It is amazing they do not land in trees!
Here is Caden watching one that had just landed as they were turning off the burners and letting the air out.
Daddy and Caden waving 'bye bye' to the big balloon. Caden kept saying, 'Night Night Balloon!'He was mesmerized watching all the action.
This one got a little up close and personal with the Ivey family!
At this point, the cops and balloon staff were asking Tim to move his truck back and telling people to back up because there was a chance they were going to land on the truck or the people!
Tim handed Caden to me and jumped in his truck to move it. Needless to say, this was not where I think they planned on landing! Tim's truck had been about 2 spaces to the left of this balloon.
So I took Caden and ran backward out of the way and was snapping shots one-handed while holding him!
It was finally down for the count.

I love these pictures. What a fun day! I've always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride!!
If you enjoyed wathing it you would love riding in one. It is wierd when you are starting to land and they are radioing to find a place to land it. They have more control than you think! What a fun day.
I heard this was going on in Plano and I thought I bet Caden gets to go. Looks like fun!
That's some mighty fine one handed photography! You couldn't ask for better seats!
Another "first" for the baby book! I'm glad you all got to watch them.
