Isn't that about right? Give him a bowl, wooden spoon and canning jar rings and they'll play with them forever! I even put dried beans in a water bottle and ya'll loved that. Of course, after awhile you have to hide it. It's a little noisey! ha!

I'm glad to know it's not just my kid that does this. You can spend lots of money on toys, but they always go for the things that aren't really toys. BUT...you can't take away all the real toys!
