Thoughts...

I was thinking tonight while putting Caden down for the night how it seems like yesterday that he WAS NOT hanging off the side of my legs when I fed him his bottle in the rocking chair! Where did the time go? After I put him down I came to the computer to upload a bunch of photos to be printed and when I turned our daily flip calendar here is what it said.

Wow, totally ironic, right? I can remember having so much fun just rocking on Mom's lap and reading book after book. I am trying to create those same memories with Caden. He loves to have me read to him and he sits so still (crazy right?) until I am totally done with the books.

Okay, now for my next thought. 1 year ago today here is what I was doing...My baby shower that Cheryl gave me.

What? For Real???

'Well I better practice some more walking so I can show off tomorrow at daycare...'

What a Weekend...So Far!

Poor Baby Caden, he's had a rough weekend so far and it is only Saturday! Last night he was playing with the blind that is in front of the sun room and pulled it away from the door and it snapped back and got his leg. (see below)

Then this morning he wakes up with a spider bite! Yes I checked the bed, and everywhere else and could find nothing! I called my sister and she recommended Epsom Salt and Benadryl, so we'll see! (see below)

Then he got his finger stuck on the safety belt at Kroger in the cart. (again...see below)Let us PRAY that we are done with the injuries!

On a lighter note! Grammie came over last night to see Caden and bring him some cute clothes for the summer. Here's an outfit that she gave him a month or so ago. I think he looks so cute in green!

So we finished up the afternoon in the pool and here is Daddy and Caden before Caden's bath.

They Say it Comes in Threes...

I have always heard tragedies come in 3's and I'm hoping that we are done for a while...

1) Tim and I watch NHRA and Tim called me Saturday night to tell me that Scott Kalitta a Funny Car driver was killed while qualifying Saturday. His car burst into flames halfway down the track and then he hit a retaining wall going 300 mph! Some people would say, 'well that's what he gets for driving a Funny Car that fast'...to that I say, he would probably say to them that he died doing what he loved. To each his own right?

2) As Caden and I were turning down our street I saw a ton of cars parked in the church parking lot near our house and a lot of men out in the yard of one of our neighbors' homes. We jokingly see tons of cars somewhere and say, 'Wow, did someone die?' Well I said that to Tim and he said, 'How did you know?' The man who was killed was a cab driver who was murdered in Plano. Death also knows no racial/religious boundaries. The cab driver and his family had moved here from Iraq 4 years ago and as I dropped off food at their house yesterday, a man came out the front door to greet me and as I handed it over I said, 'I'm so sorry for your loss; your family will be in our prayers.' At that moment more than 6 men out of the 30 or so standing outside turned to me and said, 'thank you so much for your prayers'. I thought it was very poignant.

3) Lastly, there is a Methodist church down from our neighborhood and there is a stoplight at that church. A family of 5 (Father, Mother, 3 children) were killed when someone ran a red light at that intersection as they were leaving from church.

Anyway, just my random thoughts about how fragile life is and how we should all live each day to the utmost as if it were our last. Not trying to be morbid, just thought it was ironic that in one weekend, 3 families lives were changed forever.

Happy 1st Birthday Avery Ella!

We love you baby girl and hope you have a fabulous 1st birthday! We had so much fun celebrating with you! You are truly a miracle from God and you have been through so much your first year of life losing your sister Emma Grace and being so sick yourself. We pray that you have all that life has to offer because you are such a beautiful example of how God works. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you Princess!
